Happy Birthday FunkyReaders!

FunkyReaders has now been trading for a year and what a year it has been. Judith and I had a vision of bringing fashion and reading glasses together in the UK and we are beginning to see the fruits of our labours. We have had interesting trips to Milan and Paris to source our reading glasses and have found exciting brands such as See-Concept, I Need You and laterly Aptica.

To think that we almost missed See-Concept on our trip to Macef last year. We had spent 2 days trawling the show and were tired. We were not going to go back to the show but something made us return for one last look. Back at the show we came across a stand  we had missed with bright beautiful funky fashion reading glasses called See-Concept and now a year on they are are one of our best selling Brands.

The Spring brought the start of some good weather and we had made a decision  to market ourselves and take our Idea and our products to the people, the question was how? In England there is a perfect market place to be noticed and that is the national fairs that take place up and down the country at stately homes. We booked shows at Chatsworth House, Bleinheim Palace, Lowther Castle, Arley Hall and other similar venues. To save money we bought a caravan to live in at the shows. Judith was not a fan! We have had great support, comment and sales at the shows and we thank all our customers, fellow traders and the organisers of the events for their help, encouragement and support.

What for Christmas 2014?  We will be exhibiting at Arley Hall 1st and 2nd November,The Frost Fair at Hatfield House 21st to 23rd November,Capesthorne House 28th to 30th November, Ripley Castle Christmas Fair 5th December to 7th December and Chelsea Assembly Rooms 12th to 15th December with other events still to be booked.

Our products are also all available online  and will make great Christmas Gifts.

Ciao for now !
