Sempre Art design
Sempre Art Design reading glasses.
We are always looking for new and exciting brands and are pleased to announce our new Italian reading glasses collection designed in Florence from Sempre Art Studio. The designers of these cool reading glasses are a small team based in Florence whose idea is to design produce and provide products which are genuine and useful. Fashion, cinema, design and art icons inspire the reading glasses collection. " Sempre" means "always" in Italian so Always Art has a timeless classic feel to it.
We have started with three styles and are the only UK stockist of these Italian designed reading glasses.
The first style alphabetically is Allen which takes its inspiration from the Cinema icon Woody Allen. They are a classic oversized frame which is very much in vogue at the moment.
Ettore is our second style. Ettore Sottsass has been described as the Godfather of Italian cool. He was the founder of the Memphis Collection. He was a renowned architect and designer and a friend of Dylan,Picasso and Hemingway, so we are in very good company. He was born in the Italian Dolomites to Italian and Austrian parents. He was responsible for creating cool typewriters for Olivetti. He was a very social individual and created many circles of diverse friends which are the subject of many of his photographs. "To be an architect you have to become very gentle, very calm and extremely sensitive about life" his friends all saw this in him and it radiated throughout his personality.
Our third style of Italian designed reading glasses is Roy named after an iconic American artist.
Roy Fox Lichtenstein was a leading American pop artist of the 1960, His prints are sold worldwide and rank alongside amongst others, Andy warhol and Jasper Johns. His more famous prints are Girl with The Ribbon c 1965, Kiss II c 1962 and Against Apartheid. In 1963 he released his spectacular artwork "Whaam!". In the 1970s he moved direction with his work concentrating on creating artwork with reference to famous artists of the 20th century including Dali, Monet, Picasso and Van Gogh. In his latter years he strayed into the world of sculputure and enriched it with the stunning masterpiece " Brushstrokes in Flight"
He was born and brought up in New York City and as a child he had a passionate interest in science and comic books. He sadly died on 29th September 1997 but his works remain and still shine out providing joy and stimulus to all who enjoy American pop art.
All the reading glasses in this Italian collection are unisex, resistent and super light. They come in various colours with a soft pouch, a cleaning cloth and are presented in a sturdy box. The strengths of the redaing glasses are from+1 to +3.
The fourth style of reading glasses will join the collection soon so watch out for Coco. I wonder who that could be?
We hope that you will like this new addition to our boutique and that you will be one of the first in the UK to wear these classic artistic Italian reading glasses.
Ciao for now!
